1013 Share Hub

Recommended Posts

I have happened upon a programme called DC++ which allows people to share files through something known as a hub (it's quite clear that I haven't a clue what I am talking about isn't it :wtf:) and there are literally legions of specialist hubs from science fiction, comedy, music etc. etc. I wondered if anyone knew of a good X-Files/Millennium share hub to be found or if anyone had had any experience of this programme. I have tons of stuff on Lord knows how many disks relating to 1013 and will be sorting through it all in the New Year and would love to share some of it with you but know it can't be done through the forum. I think, though not sure, that some of the stuff I have may be very rare these days and I'm not precious about keeping it to myself and would love to start some form of trade forum. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks always,

eth

I'm not sure if I can help much because I'm not too familiar with DC++ but you can search for hubs on: http://hublist.org/

And if you're not able to find something useful maybe someone here could consider creating a hub for trading 1013 related material. I think that everyone could benefit from it since it would be an easy way to share our files.

Thanks Laran,

I clicked on the link you gave me but can't seem to find anything devoted to 1013 and would gladly create a Hub but I don't even understand the concept much less have the know how to do it (I am a real technophobe unfortunately and too far gone for any crash courses.) What I am wondering is: if a link is placed in the forum offering files for download from an external location (something like rapidshare) does it still constitute a breach of policy and what files are acceptable to place in the download section and what files are not.

I might attempt some reading on creating 'Hubs' and see if it is as scary as is sounds....

Till then,

eth

The only kind of "hub" I know anything about is the hub-cap on a CAR, and I'm sure that's not what you mean! LOL! *blush*

Hey ethsnafu! I aint spoken to ya in a while. Hows life?

I might be able to help you out. I use DC++ quite a lot and I will have a go at creating a 1013 hub for us lot here at TIWWA. If I get it up and going I'll PM you with the details and we can test it. If all goes well I'll post it in the forums.
