If you had to pick one... which would most closely fit your personality, thinking, ideas, behavior, beliefs, concerns, etc?  Just pick the one that would be the closest.  And, if you feel comfortable with it, please post a reply as to why you answered what you did.

I would likely be an Owl, if anything, because of their scientific bent to things and their preservation of scientific knowledge that was banned by the societies and governments of their times.  I fancy myself with this kind of courage and motivation.  I strive to uphold and protect the unpopular rational truths that society at large seems to perceive as a threat.

If I could have picked 2, I would have also picked the Human Genome Project (legit).  I love to be a part of genetic science, as well as evolution science.  However, I might go with the renegade version, if my group in the Project was shut down because it revealed controvercial evidence regarding evolution or the human species.

Okay, that's my picks, and reasons.

What's yours?!

I'd choose The Owls too for exactly the same reasons. I've always been convinced that boundaries are set by science, knowledge and skill rather than Godly powers and irrational thought.

Hi

I answered the Family.

In fact, my choice was self-restricted to the first four answers...

Odessa I would not, despite the mystic aura of the Reich that I would enjoy to solve.

Rooster or Owl... That is a difficult choice, an arm or an eye? The appeal of science and the way it answers so many questions would lead me to Owls, but it truly lacks romantism and the depth of the faith of the Roosters. Do they have a greater knowledge of things above that I would like to hear about?

So I chose the Family, for its long forgotten knowledge of what is now legend, a great faith in things condemned by the disturbed Church in their time, for all the mysteries of History it promises to keep and I would die to know!

But I am daydreaming and starting to wake...  :eyes:

Well put, Gra.  I would also say that it shatters boundaries of knowlege, opening the way for the evolution of knowledge and an understanding of things.  It can break the bonds of ignorance, fear, cultural or social controls, etc.

Wellington,

Though my observations, ideas, personality would certainly not readily suite me to be a member of The Family, I was very intriqued and fascinated with that entire subplot.  I soooooo wish they had fleshed it out a bit in another ep(s) of season 3.... or better yet, in the 4th season that never transpired.  That entire sub-plot had soooo much potential.  Very cool stuff.

.........sadly,i cannot pick any "one" as none of them feel right to me.  as i've said before it is my belief that putting "all your eggs into any one basket" is to me,"NOT"in keeping with being a "free-thinker" whatsoever,it's simply going from one extreme to another in many, but certainly not all, cases.

...i prefer to "try" and stay right on the line with major issues/beleifs and try and work out my own thoughts and theories that way, instead of being force-fed everything from people in lab-coats AND religious-robes.  i still maintane that being extremist in thought, and in actions, whether it be science or spritual matters can be a very dangeous thing in general.  for me,evidence of that lies in the state of the world since the industrial revolution.

I agre with you, Dave.

I always identified more with Frank anyway...  The "Luminary".  I'm never one who fits into a "group".  I'm always seeing what's wrong with it and trying to change it.

 Oh, well...

Both of you make good points.  I definitely don't identify with something or support something or be a part of it unless  I investigate and experience it for myself.  Individual personal investigation and experience is the only thing that seems to result in positive consequences and effective understanding.

So, in the real world, I don't give complete alliegence or total affiation with any group, organization, school of thought, etc.  Perhaps, a loose association or tenative alignment.  And I certainly don't become a zealot, idealogue, or dogmatic about anything.  I have fallen into those pitfalls in the past, I will admit, but I have learned from these experiences.

That's why I can appreciate the original Selfosophy Psycho and the whole Doomsday ep.  It really illustrates in the most clever, genius, and humourous way, the dangers, absurdities, and hilarity of zealotry.

Well, the only one I could pick would be the Family.....I side with Frank on every count.  Guess I'll just remain a freelance consultant

Interesting that the Owls have it overwhelmingly, so far (although it is really not a representative survey... on 6 votes, etc).  I guess, if you have to pick one, the Owls would be the most rational of the groups (loosely defined, because the Owls, while not religiously oriented, seemed to have thier own very strong ideology, and need for control and power).  I guess I say rational, because, at least their work was rooted in science.
