Guest SouthernCelt Posted May 29, 2006 Share Posted May 29, 2006 The X-Files spinoff series, ’The Lone Gunmen,’ had its pilot episode concerned with a federally-sanctioned/terrorist plot to fly an airplane by remote-control into the World Trade Center! Guest gmcp Posted May 30, 2006 Share Posted May 30, 2006 It is extremely difficult to watch. They literally have a camera in the cockpit of the plane, headed straight towards the towers. It is flat out eerie. The episode commentary really sheds light into how disturbed the writers and producers were by this "prophecy." I believe it was Spotnitz who said on 9/11, his first thought was "I hope our Pilot didn't offer any inspiration to this." They were also dumbfounded by the fact that their plot was very high-tech, and the actual attack was extremely low-tech. It really adds a new dimension to the Pilot.. that's for sure.
