Some time ago (2005 I think) I caught a news segment on ITV that was celebrating 'however many years' of The Prisoner and they had taken Fenella Fielding to Portmeirion and plonked her in a golf buggy for the proceedings. When Kenneth Williams describes someone as eccentric I guess that's indicative of how wonderfully eccentric she is. She was bemused by the whole event and seemed really at odds with seeming praise that was being lavished on what she considered a minor contribution to the show as The Village Voice. She played along for the most part but did look as though she'd rather be somewhere else that day. She did describe the place as “Oh, it's ravishing! Just beautiful." Couldn't agree with her more.
