Portage Glacier, AK

Portage Glacier, Alaska.
Portage is a retreating glacier on the Kenai Peninsula of Alaska.
Called 'Portage' because it lies on an old portage route between the Turnagain Arm and Prince William Sound.
In my lifetime I've watched it slowly retreat back into the valley; nevertheless, it remains a place of wonder and majesty.
The Iceberg seen in this picture is roughly the size of a VW bus on the surface, yet is vastly larger beneath the crystal blue water.
