Busy Day Today

Had a pretty full day today. Trying to get my Environmental Education Certification...NC has a program where you complete about 250 hours of classes and programs and you become "certified" by the state for EE. I guess it doesn't mean too much, but it's a certificate and it's fun going to classes. (I loved college!) Anyway, I've gotten about 200 hours in the last year; pretty proud of that. To get to my point, I attended a class on "Raptors:Birds of Prey" today-it was fun.Took some pics with my c

Watched "viva La Bam" 1st Season

Watched the first season of Viva La Bam tonight-got the DVD from a used book store for $15 bucks. So freakin' hilarious!! Sometimes I think my brain is semi-retarded because I enjoy watching these guys farting, destroying stuff, and making each other puke while Bam put his parents through hell. Of course, they are paid well. But I totally enjoy this show(spin-off from Jackass on MTV, for those unfamiliar). Is there anyone else out there that finds this type of crude potty humor so funny, or is i

Some Random Stuff About Me!

Kind of bored, so I thought I'd write down some random facts about who I am...-I was a seventh grade science teacher for a year-boy, that's a hard job!-Even though I was a tomboy growing up, I now collect Barbies. (Barbies, of all things?!)-I own three cats, three lizards, a tarantula, a giant millipede, a Siamese Fighting Fish, and an 11 year old!-I almost became a cop in San Bernadino, Ca. I passed the written & oral tests, then got cold feet because I didn't think I had the right temprame

I'd Better Be Careful!

I went back and read a couple of my entries and I realized that I may have been a little too loose with my ramblings about the workplace. So I have decided to hide a few of them. Although this is my place to rant and rave, I need to remember that anyone can access this info. That's all I need..."Uh-we read your blog on the internet and you're fired!" Ha-ha. Not so funny. Next time I say something that might piss off someone else-please tell me!

The Almighty

The other day a little girl I know started asking her mother questions about God."Mommy, is God a man or a woman?" Being open-minded, her mother replied, "Both, honey.""Mommy, is God black or white?""Both, honey."Mommy, is God gay or straight?""Both, honey.""Mommy, is God Michael Jackson?"(No offense is meant to anyone of any race, creed, color, or sexual preference!)

My Nephew's Band!

:guitar:Ok, he's not really my nephew-he's my best friend's son. But I've known him every since he was 9...he's 18 now. Anyway, they have a pretty cool band out of Greensboro...if you have a taste for this kind of music. In the pic, he's the one in the back w/the white shirt on. I've seen them play a show or two. funny..I'm not really into the screaming incoherent lyrics, but the guitarists are awesome, and the music is powerful. If you want to take a listen, they have a website with some MP3's o

Personal Ads..lowest Form Of Humility?

:hug:Just sitting here tonight actually placing an ad on a personals page. God, that feels so desperate. And you know people think you have to be a total pig (no offense to pigs) to be sitting at home by yourself and placing a personal ad! It was so much easier to meet people when I was younger; even in college it wasn't too hard. Now in the "real world" I never see anyone one but my daughter and the postman(and he's not my type!) Most of the time I don't mind being alone, but these late nights

Sometimes I Forget...

Felt this was as good of a place as any to share my thoughts...it won't cost me $200 bucks an hour and I can still pour my heart out! I was just thinking about the war in Iraq and how I feel guilty when I DON'T think about it. I'm a military brat, father was in Vietnam and Desert Storm. My brief marriage was to a "grunt" and I've always been a big supporter of our troops. Our troops, not this war. My best friend is over there, trying to take advantage of the money situation; meanwhile, he
