The I Inside

I found a gem when I reviewed THE I INSIDE:http://enterline2.tripod.com/theiinside.htmlI do include some spoilers in the review, but I have left so many others out of the review. If you need to see a great pyschological movie that will screw with your mind, rent THE I INSIDE. Better than IDENTITY and as good as MEMENTO.The movie stars Ryan Phillippe, Stephen Rea, Piper Perabo, Sarah Polley, Stephen Lang, and Robert Sean Leonard.

Near The End Of The Week And..

...I only wrote about 500 words for the novel today. Two DVDs are on the way for me to review. I might have a new writing gig soon (fingers crossed) to add to my resume. One of my contacts is taking up a new job (but she was nice enough to give me the addy of who I should be dealing with in the future).

Slow Going, But...

I'm getting there as I write words for the novel slowly. I didn't write any of the novel yesterday, but I felt like crap. Today, I wrote 250 words so far, but I will squeeze in some more words as I listen/watch DIRTY WAR on PBS.I have tried scanning some word processor pages to the computer using READiris to mixed results. Maybe I should scan the two short stories (that exist only on word processor discs for a defunct Brother word processor that still works somehow after 10 years) I plan t

Le Jour Se Leve (1939)

I finally watched this old black and white French movie about a middle aged working stiff (who is in love witha young woman) goes nuts one day and shoots this leech of a man. Then he doesn't evn leave his apartment as the police try to get at him. Here is the big irony:The guy and the woman he loves are both named Francois (except the woman's name is spelled Francoise). Some interesting stuff in this movie, but I wouldn't have shot Valentin. I would have married Francoise like Francois should

Immortel Review

http://enterline2.tripod.com/immortel2.htmlAre Jill and Nikopol pawns being influenced by others like Horus and John? I do need to watch this one again (maybe, sometime next week).

I'm Here.

It's midnight. No one is lurking TIWWA. I trying to work more on my sci-fi novel before I go off to catch some zzz's. Today, I was watching a couple of old black and white films on DVD: WE WERE STRANGERS (1949) and BEHOLD A PALE HORSE (1964). Both were interesting even though I give the lead to WE WERE STRANGERS since it's drama was intense. One of my favorite parts is the last 15 minutes. Talk about a finish to a movie. It is my view, this movie is a little seen classic. No, BE

Computer Is Being Weird Today

A couple of times today, I have had to turn the computer off after I turned it on , and then start it again to get the thing to work properly today. I don't why it is doing that, but this computer (which has passed teh three year point at the end of December) has always been acting weird at times and then it's smooth sailing at other times. I have had started teh system from scratch 3 times and even had parts replaced inside the thing. When this thing was under a computer protection plan, the

Immortel

I finally got the French sci-fi movie, IMMORTEL, to watch. It is an interesting sci-fi movie so far. I watched half of it on Friday before I went away for the weekend. I will be watching the rest soon.In the meanwhile, you can read an article I put together on IMMORTEL almost a half year ago:http://enterline2.tripod.com/immortel.html

A Question

Should I go the Publish On Demand model and collect all of my earlier ENTERLINE MEDIA work from the old Print columns in 2000 and 2001, early web site stuff from 2002 and part of 2003, and some unseen material (print or online) of old stuff?I was looking at CafePress.com and Lulu.com where it costs nothing to set it up.

Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood Of War

I was watching this Korean movie about two brothers who are drafted into the Korean Army to fight against teh North Koreans at the start of the Korean War. The battle scenes are brutal and realistic as anything you will see in SAVING PRIVATE RYAN and BAND OF BROTHERS. The Korean War looks to be more brutal than anything seen in those movies and TV shows that covered World War 2. The DVD will be out on Feb 15, 2005 in the USA. I will watch the extras and have a DVD Review up at ENTERLINE MED

Dagger In The Heart

Question: why does it feel like someone stuck a dagger in your heart when someone you liked a little bit goes out fo the way to mention she met someone while on vacation? It just stings. Some people build up these barriers. Is it like their way of doing things when it comes to interacting with people? Do they do it to get some reaction out of someone? Do they say it to hurt someone because they know they can hurt that person or they just go about it way too hard like "I shall never be yo

Andromeda- Where Did It All Go Wrong?

I loved the first two seasons of Gene Roddenberry''s Andromeda, but then it started to fall apart when they part in Bob Engels as head writer (he can't write an Androemda episode to save his life). The third season had some good episdoes from the remaining writers from the original writing staff (since the original head writer- Robert Hewitt Wolfe- was fired and the story editor- Ethlie Ann Vare- left due to creative differences). Then the original writing staff left after the end of season 3

Made Some Headway On Some Short Stories

I went through three short stories I printed up and thought of some things to rewrite and add. I spotted some mistakes (they're like ****roaches sometimes, but seeing my work on paper is better than the computer screen). The three short stories in question are all crime stories in an unnamed city. You can pick up some clues to one of them by reading the VOID OFTHE ABYSS blog I have linked in my first entry in this blog.So it is off to work on those three stories this week.

I'm Waiting

I have 4 rolls of film I need to develop: a slide roll from end of October, a black and white roll from last year, a 12 exposure roll of color film, and a roll of black and white film I just finished up. I so want a female model to take pictures of and do something creative while being interesting and strange. I want to be able to tell a story with a picture and some pictures feel like movie stills (maybe some from a film noir). I just need to track that certain female model that I would

The Collection Keeps Going But...

I'm going to get rid of 3 to 4 DVDs including one I do really like (but might never watch again as in the case of BIG FISH) out of my collection. I should listen to the commentary to THE SINGING DETECTIVE (the movie and no the mini-series). The movie shines when Katie holmes is in a scene and when Robert Downey Jr. is in a film noir nightmare (where he seems out of place in the hospital reality). Mel Gibson is just miscast as the ugly shrink guy. BORN TO DEFENSE is a very horrible Jet Li mo
