Looks like a big, fake rat to me. Was this by any chance someone's home video using the "Blair Witch" technique that they're passing off as documentation of something else?

Yeah, that was my thought as well. With the picture quality and dark setting, it wouldn't be too hard to fake something like that. If it is real, I can see where they would be freaked out for sure. It reminds me of an X-files episode. It's fun to think that creatures like that might exist somewhere, but I am going with the prank theory until proven otherwise.
