I thought it looked very good as well. It's tough to tell from three very short clips, but I liked the tone and acting.

I'm also a member of the Yahoo Kolchak Group and they all seem to be bashing the preview clips as well as the casting choices. The consensus seems to be that this will just be another bad X-Files clone.

Let's face it, this isn't going to be the same Kolchak we loved from the 1970's. If people keep comparing it to that, then they are going to be disappointed. I'm definitely going to give it a chance.

At the very least this new Kolchak should lead to the release of the originals on DVD. If the new show turns out to be good, then that is a bonus.

I have a jpg of the computerized Darren appearing in the new Kolchak series. Thought it would be nice to post it here somewhere. I don't know if that is possible or not. I can e-mail it to someone that knows how to do that sort of thing. Help?

Thanks. Hopefully this works. Let me know what you think of the shot. I'm glad they were able to work Darren into the new series, even if it is in such a small way. I understand his health isn't the best and a cameo appearance would be impossible.

So far I am not sure how I feel about the fairly short clips, but I know my immediate reaction was that Kolchak should be older. Even though I am sure that I fall directly into the demographic they're trying to appeal to by making him a "hip", late twenty-something, it still feels somewhat wrong to me. That said, I completely agree that show deserves a chance. It's really a shame that the built in audience it should have is getting set to hate it before they've even aired an episode.

Clearly Kolchak isn't exactly a household name, so I really have to believe that the people who thought this up are doing it out of respect for the original character, rather than just phoning in a watered down update to cash in. With that in mind, I am willing to shelve my assumptions and give it a fair shot. And with X-Files gone, I definitely have room in my life for another take on the creature of the week hunters. I am surprised that more folks don't seem to agree and would rather shoot it down before it even gets off the ground.
