I think the dying man needed some comfort and redemption.  I think  he felt he was part of something that had harmed Frank.  He needed Frank  there to help him.  I don't understand the red bowl though. What was it's significance.

I recently lost my stepdad.  I only met him twice, but he was a stabilizing voice on teh phone regularly.   Good man.  His son, my half brother is severely autistic.  Trying to get him taken care of, a group home.   But I feel such a sense of loss, like  a darkness has crept in.  We lost a good person, this world.  We lost a quiet, unknown light in the darkness.  I  don't know why, but it makes me think, of Millennium, the losses Frank Suffered..  How he endured... But how each loss took the light of protection away from  the world.  That's how I feel.
