Elders (Moderators) Libby Posted June 24, 2008 Elders (Moderators) Share Posted June 24, 2008 From: https://www.aintitcool.com/node/37203 via the Haven. Interesting interview with Mark Snow, including this bit: SK: What about the series? I remember when THE TRUTH AND THE LIGHT CD came out. I was very excited they finally released your music from the show. Any future plans of releasing more? MS: I understand that there's going to be CDs released on the other series that Chris did: MILLENNIUM, THE LONE GUNMEN, and HARSH REALM. They're talking about this massive compilation of THE X-FILES too. But nine years times…it could be ten thousand minutes of music! That would be a real challenge to choose from that much music but I understand that that is in the works too.

Guest Laurent.
Maybe it will just be a single cd for HR,TLG and MM. Something like "Mark Snow's 1013 work".. anyway this is great news and I hope it will turn out to be true; MM and HR soundtracks are amazing! Orodromeus
Thanks to the Haven's Lyle, we have a confirmation from Frank Spotnitz that this is really going forward and it's not just some random interview comment. https://www.biglight.com/blog/2008/06/mark-snow-music.html We couldn't agree more about Mark's music. Yes, plans are in the works to release a lot more of it, hopefully before the end of this year. As always, we'll let you know details as soon as we can. Par-tay! Can we hope for something more than a US-exclusive iTunes release this time?
Guest betweenthelines
Hmm, I was hoping that UNKLE's track would be playing over the credits. Maybe TPTB will be nice to us and put the Xzibit song in the second half of the credits :D.

Guest Laurent.
Well you can listen to some samples over at Amazon.com on the IWTB soundtrack page. But I think you should wait to see the movie, and then listen to the entire tracks. Both are going to be better experiences this way, I believe. Orodromeus
Another confirmation from Spotnitz's blog that this is actually actively pursued: https://www.biglight.com/blog/2008/07/iwtb-soundtrack.html Do you know if more music from the TV series (or even "Millennium") will be released onto cd in the future? [...] And we are working on bringing you more classic Mark Snow music before the end of the year. X-mas: The X-Files The Complete Recordings Volume 1?
