Does anyone know what the name of that damned watercolor is above Ashlyn Gere, sorry, Clear Knight's desk in "Owls" and "Roosters"? Does it even have a name...anyway, thanks...

Good question. It may not be named; however I am of little help. I googled images for 'art by hitler', 'hitler mountain' 'hitler watercolor' and a few others, but no luck.

However, I did find Hitler's Art: Lanscapes. Additionally, there's Original Hitler Artwork for Sale if you're interested.

I wonder why Clear had that particular painting and had it on display in her office, of all places. It wasn't particurarly good either, it seems some (see links) were better (some worse).

Too bad we can't find the site where Frank found it in the first place... (though I don't remember seeing a title there either)

That bloody picture! I have searched everywhere yet I cannot find a name. It was, according to Frank, found in Hitler's bunker but doesn't appear in any visual record of these artifacts I have seen. He states it is given to members of Odessa and as debate rages as to whether Odessa exists at all could it be that the painting is a piece of artistic license also? It doesn't much resemble Hitler's other work....

"Pouting porn star portrays Nazi!" Sounds like a spiffing premise for one of those schlocky naziplotation movies with zero plot and a fair few uniform-less Helgas (or is that just my dvd collection?) Clear Knight (who I guess was named after the infamous Kristallnacht (German for "crystal night") by the common people evoking the many shop windows, mostly owned by Jewish shopkeepers, that were broken by Nazis on November 9, 1938)) and Odessa are my favourite (in a 'still realising how evil the Nazi's were' kinda way) aspect of the mythology fest that was Owls and Roosters: a group that I hoped we would revisit, hoped would become the arch nemesis of the Millennium Group, hoped would give them the opportunity to delve into the vast urban legends and historical facts surrounding the Nazi's and the Occult: The Thule Society, rune lore, The Order of Teutons, Japanese Society of the Green Dragon, Wewelsberg, Anhernerbe, The Spear of Lohengrin and on, and on, und auf.....Let Morgan and Wong loose on that lot!

I guess Carter's shift in tone and direction for Season Three made the Millennium Group the nefarious, shadowy organisation with no need, or room, for another group of similar device. As it's made clear, Odessa want Frank: I would assume the newer elements of his gift as displayed in Single Blade of Grass and The Hand of Sebastian would make him the perfect human dowsing rod in the pursuit of holy/unholy relics. I also loved the idea of Aerotech, one of those 'x-filesy' organisations that disappear the minute the cover is blown leaving nothing, not even a forward address. Aerotech who?

I loved Frank's meeting with the pouting Clear, the seedy undercurrent of evil, the provocative visions of marching nazis and brazen swastikas: she could have become a rival to Lucy Butler as the embodiment of human evil rather than supernatural malice. I think Morgan and Wong had created the perfect rival group in addition to a few other new organisations to explore, The Owls, The Roosters, The Family, The Trust and Odessa: too many you may think but easily a solid foundation for exploration right through a few more seasons. Unfortunately Carter streamlined the Morgan and Wong universe, removing all of the above as well as Catherine (Oh c'mon! How many times did he kill Mulder? He could have done it if he had wanted to..), Roedecker, The Old Man concept, Group candidates, Cheryl Andrews (who should have been replaced by the zany Squirell-Nut-Zipper Pathologist in Buddy Holly Glasses - I loved her..), Lara Means etc. etc. and replaced them all, in a masterstroke, with Emma and Barry.....ermm.....didn't bode well did it? Sarcasm aside, and my distinct love of Season Two aside also, I hated the Millennium Group (represented pretty much solely by Peter Watts) as the arch nasties of Season Three. Odessa as the villains of the piece I can certainly buy that.

I must disagree. The die was cast by M&W with their mishandling of the Group in S2. CJ & CC had to salvage what they could and make the best of a bad situation IMO.

Unfortunately Carter streamlined the Morgan and Wong universe, removing all of the above...

It was Carter's universe that M&W painted over. S3 had to put it back on track as best it could.

I don't think that's a fair comparison with regard to Catherine. The cliffhangers of "Anasazi" and "Gethsemane" left plenty of room for maneuver (deliberately so), whereas the end of "The Time is Now" left no escape without undercutting the integretary of the series by way of a fanfiction-style resurrection.

As for Roedecker, the Old Man concept, and Lara Means, they never much belonged in the show in the first place IMO, so they were no loss. With Cheryl Andrews, I agree that it would have been good to see her again more substantially ("Skull and Bones" notwithstanding), but I think a mistake had already been made in transforming her into some kind of mercenary/traitor in "The Hand of Saint Sebastian" (along with the rest of the episode).

Emma was far more appropriate as an investigative companion for Frank than Lara Means, IMO, and the likes of Barry Baldwin and Andy McClaren restored some of the Bob Bletcher-esque dynamics of S1.

Having said all this, I don't mean to be confrontational, just thought I should put across the opposite PoV. I fully respect that you feel differently.
