davidmarx2000
So, just watched this episode again in honor of the show and the holiday, and what I found deeply significant was the parallel between Catherine's regretful accusation that Frank was letting his gift and the group pull him away from his family, and Frank's father talking about how Frank's mother's gift tore the family apart. At that point, I think Frank begins to empathize with his father, and that results in their reconcilation ("Why did it take so long?"). That is excellent writing.
Earthnut
I totaly agree, "excellent writing," and one of everyone's favorite episodes. When it comes to family, it always seems to take a long time to reconcile. As always, the people you love the most, hurt you the deepest.
Elders (Admins) The Old Man Posted December 29, 2012 Elders (Admins) Share Posted December 29, 2012 It would have been pretty horrible if Frank saw the Fetch of Catherine that night at the church. Even worse if Catherine had seen it, I guess you could call it the ultimate spoiler!
davidmarx2000
Yeah, major spoiler. Something tells me the writers of both episodes weren't on the same page, so to speak, in terms of Catherine's death anyway. This is who we are...
Walkabout
not ready to see this episode at this time , hopefully next year. I still have trouble with some of the ' Criminal Minds ' eps.
davidmarx2000
Why are you not ready? Just no urge or does something bother you about it?
Earthnut
Why are you not ready? Just no urge or does something bother you about it? I'm sure it has to do with Walkabout's nephew being killed in Aurora and not wanting to watch anything violent. Bless her heart, I know she's in a lot of pain from the loss. Speaking from experience since I lost my oldest son in 08.

seesthru
I can understand not being ready to see this episode. It's probably one that sets off the sorrow.
seesthru
This is the song from Midnight of the century that kept playing. Danse Arabe, composed by Tchaikovsky. Part of the nutcracker suite. I haven't listened to the whole song before. Don't think I've ever listened to the whole suite. Edited December 24, 2015 by seesthru posted Beethoven by accident.
