I agree with you HPD. You can't blame a X-Files story for not having extraterrestrials; which is Phillips major argument. There are far more episodes with thriller/paranormal elements like IWTB than there are sci-fi episodes with aliens..

He's blaming the movie for not being closer to the series.. when in fact it is a lot closer than FTF was. Wrong argument. Why can't he judge the movie for what it is?!

The discussion would have been a lot more interesting if Ebert had been there instead of this guy. He gave the movie a great review and seemed to like it a lot, even more than Roeper!
