Yeah, i know thats Lala land ( weird name ) seems like good distribution. This thing with rapidshare is not request for adding link on these website, i know it and respect it. I wrote is only because i just think, thats not everytime bad think. I respect and like composers and i like buying theyr work, but as i said official releases is seems like half work, meanwhile they put info about promo with extended length but dont make availible??? Thats a joke, then i must use rapidshare, because is only way. Im not angry because i cant download, i am angry because i know that i dont make it just in time and like bonus is not availeble to download, too. One way or another i dont have it. Thats the point.

Mark Snow want release more music, but there is one problem. Fox have license and they wont release. I dont judge Snow, hell no and either Fox, but is little bit weird, you know. I have two complet soundtracks on The X files, Christmas carol have 30 minute, thats all music in that episode and is amazing. Sad is a fact that you see that they may release complet, but they just wont, and in these case i dont think so that is no selling soundtracks. Yes, im not imagine how much is huge collection that must be, but point is only that they can release, and what do we have?? One Cd, i dont count movies only series, one cd and huge collection of rip sounds.... Its not enough, dont you think??

Timeisnear, I appreciate what you are saying about official releases sometimes being disappointing compared to later extended releases, but it tends to happen in most media, film, tv, music. Other soundtracks, like STAR WARS, LORD OF THE RINGS, etc have been released in multiple versions, and I have usually bought the first version only to buy the extended version a year or so later. Usually, extended versions are only made available when sales of the first show there is a market there to justify making them. We see this all the time with "vanilla" versions of dvds with few extras, which are followed by a directors extreme special edition cut 6 months down the line. Truth is, not everyone will want the extras, and they are more expensive to produce than regular editions. Its a smaller audience than those who simply want to watch the film. Its the same with soundtracks, it's a specialist market.

The main issue you have made about not being able to get Millennium CD from LaLa Land is that your country's postal service is unreliable; the CD doesn't have the all of the music used on the show; and that you may not be able to afford it. I can appreciate all those points, but as we've waited ten years for a Millennium CD anyway to come out, I can say that its actually good value for money, and I'm just happy we do have the CD in the first place. I hope you can get the cash together to buy yourself a copy sometime soon, and maybe in the future, based on the success of this CD, they will release more.

Well, another possibility is not to order at La-La-Land. Since you live in Europe, there are many soundtracksellers in Europe, who sell the MM-Score as well.

I live in Germany and we have a pair of specialised internetshops, that sell the MM-Score and they ship worldwide. Two of them are Chris´s Soundtrackcorner and the Soundtrack-Club.

..maybe in the future, based on the success of this CD, they will release more

Well, at least not in the near future and not from La-La-Land, I´ve posted this in the main MM-Score-on-CD-Threat before, MV Gerhard from La-La-Land stated, that there are no further plans at this time for more MM-CDs, they all feel (which for me indicates, that Mark Snow is meant too), that they covered everything important from the show.

You can already start to put aside some money for that too, because Mark Snow stated in recent interviews, that there are plans for a massive X-Files-CD-Compilation. The word "massive" indicates that there will be more than one cd, but if it will be a 2-CD-Set like MM or even a box set with three or more cds is yet to be confirmed. This will most likely not come from La-La-Land, Snow mentioned Decca Records in the interview, which could mean, that the release won´t be limited and will be available in "normal" record stores also.

the CD doesn't have the all of the music used on the show

I know that, i probably said in wrong cotext...Ehm i mean that the songs of the Christmas carol, its just great example how they may release a complete music of each episode, in thsi songs nothing missing, only x files theme missing but thats understandible. You know i listen that music and i am depresed because i know that they never release another similiar complete. Imagine that you have complete soundtrack on each episode, that would be wonderful....

Yes i see that playlist on MM and i still dont see anything of Dead laters, but it still enough.... I hope i make it....

Sadeyes:Yeah i know what they want make, but my point is that they release something 13 years later. First one if i remeber right they release in 1995/6 i dont kow for sure. Thats just funny, 13 years, im so glad that The x files starts in my younger age, because if ive been 85 age old and i like it, i dont survive another 13 years when they realease my favorite soundtrack, thats just so wrong. Only reason why they release more is because they make I want believe...

Yes one more think, all of you, feel free ask me for Christmas carol, as i said i respect rules on this website, but i may send on ICQ, this is just piece of art that you dont find any link or availeble way, and i think that be shame dont have it. Its three songs, ussual length is 10 min on each and if you remember Christmas carol is part one of the two episode, next episode is Emily, i think thats 5 season, episode 6, not best music from The x files but it only small piece we have. Another is The postmodern-Prometheus, i dont like it much, but if you want i have music too. Thats only two episodes, no with SFX, original complete and of course not official... Ask if you want...

What you´re talking about is the Season-5-Promo, that´s circling around the internet for some years now. It seems that Snow did Promo-CDs from several of his shows, but of course none of them was ever considered being released offically, like the MillenniuM-Season-1-Promo.

Ah, ok I get your point about releasing scores years after the series/film was released. Well, to some extend it depends on the studio, if they are interested in releasing the music on cd, sometimes there are legal issues, which prevent a cd release, but mostly it´s a question of money. With Mark Snow we have the fortune, that his music for the X-Files and MillenniuM is synthetic, so any re-use-fees for an orchestra, which would make a cd-release far more expensive, aren´t an issue here.

Of course, I wanted more music from the X-Files on cd since I first watched the show, but there will never be cd releases of all the music written for the show, that´s just impossible to do, because of the money and because of the interest in such a release. Far more people would buy a cd with the best selected tracks from all seasons for the price of a normal cd, than several box-sets containig all the music (what not everybody wants) for a higher price each time. It just wouldn´t pay for the labels and you have to remember too, that fans of scores in general aren´t a particulary large group on this planet. If a regular score-cd sells about 10.000 times worldwide, it´s considered a big hit, but that doesn´t happen quite often, especially if it´s not the score for a big movie hit like Pirates of the Caribbean. Some score cds are limited to 1000 or even 500 copies and they also don´t sell out quickly, if they do at all.

That said, of course I would be happy as hell if they released more music from Mark Snow already, but on the other hand, we´re nowadays very fortuned to have stronger growing Score-Labels, which release limited copies of a score, that wouldn´t be released at all normally. So I think nowadays a release of the X-Files-music will be better than a release ten years ago, because of the possibilites of independent score labels. And also you have to remember, when a big label like decca records releases a score cd today, than it´s impossible for another label to release that same music again for the next 20 years, because for that period of time, the publishing rights are within this company. So if ten years ago a label would have released more music from the X-Files and the release would have been crap, like bad track selections or something, we would have to wait another ten years before another label could get the rights on this music and release it properly. Or they would have to buy the rights from the owner company, but this would be much more expensive, than a small score label could afford normally. They did it several times in the past, but only with titles, that they knew would sell very well. That´s one of the reasons, why the upcoming release of the X-Files-music will only contain music from season 4 and afterwards, because seasons 1 to 3 were already covered by the Truth-and-the-light-album.

I know that really fan have these promo, i just offer someone who dont have it, because i try to find it a week ago for a test. And, well i dont find it, thats only reason why i offer. There is Millennium promo?? I dont have any info of that, and its that another piss factor, i guess you dont know where can i find it?? And yes you are right, everything you said is truth, but i am just dont know how to write and thanks that you wrote. As i said my english is not so good and not everytime i can wrote all i want. Is it Christmas carol and Prometheus only one promo, or is it more? And i iv been disapointment where i found Prometheus, because i think thats not so interesting music and story itself. Im just crazy about this, because i today found another more promo soundtracks, its to many of them, hmm seems like i spend most time on computer and just looking for it... Its brain wash, but worth it. Dont give me wrong, iam proud on my original soundtracks like a Xena by Joseph LoDuca, in a america is easy the get these, but for me i looking for these two years and i finaly have 1 and 2 season original, how happy i am. You see, i like music like anythng else, i can sit 4 hours and just stare on wall and listen, music is everethyng for me and thats why im disapointment most of time, that i dont have something... I watch Millennium in my 9 years, The best of MM i buy probably 3 years ago. It just a question of a time when i try to get this album official release, just i affraid that i dont make it in time. Nothing else And if i dont make it, no one cant blame me that i download it if i found it.

And about new The x files soundtrack, i hear that maybe had include some older season music, i personaly want Mr. X theme in the Sleeples, and i read that maybe can posible. But If they release only that you said, i dont care iv been happy anyway....

Dear Timeisnear,

I really want you to continue to enjoy discussing the current release of Mark Snow's Millennium CD and other soundtracks that you own and enjoy but I must ask that all discussion regarding the illegal sharing or acquiring of licensed or unreleased promotional material needs to stop. I accept that you have understood that it is contrary to our policy to share this material within the forum but repeatedly offering to share music with our members or requesting that members suggest where such material can be found externally is also frowned upon. That said, by all means continue to discuss the music and your appreciation of it.

Best wishes,

Eth

Jesus a just ask for some info about promo, because i dont know anything about it, and yes i want it but i dont ask for a rapidlink. I feel like murderer right now. And one thing, these promo what i offer is for free at least i found it on a web where ben free, i dont mean megaupload, torrent or something else, just free, and if you know its not official and not for sale, then i dont see a problem. Im not pushing anybody that they must send me anything. I believe that i find music what i want in original form or no original, its no different, if i like it and i believe it, then i found original someway and bought, but i dont just sit down for 2 years and waiting, if you like Snows music, you know thats impossible stand without it....Dont take like provocation, but even if we put some links here, honestly, who cares? Im not here to say thats right, but is true that ever single day thousands people something ilegal download and we are afraid put a link....As i said i dont want to link, but its funny....

Dear Timeisnow,

I understand the nature of the predicament you face and the problems you face acquiring the things you would like and I want you to continue to enjoy your time here and become a familiar face around these parts. At no point have I sought to imply that you have done anything wrong, on the contrary I have merely tried to advise you as a new member as to what and what is not permitted here. This forum enjoys a harmonious relationship with regards to those responsible for Millennium, it does so because it has established an ethical and respectful approach to their work. Whilst I accept that you see no ill in the sharing of unlicensed or licensed material it is not the policy of this forum to share such links. As you note in your last post that you still don't see it as a problem if links were posted to such material despite our attempts to guide you on this I have decided to close this topic as I feel it serves no further purpose. I urge you to PM me if you feel I have acted unfairly and I will discuss this with members of the Elder team to ensure I have acted correctly.

Best wishes,

Eth
