Guest Laurent.
"The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed." Best first line of any novel ever written!! I'll think about mine... I have to find a really good one! edit: Ok... I might have a temporary one for now; “Don’t tell God what to do!” -Niels Bohr
Guest Laurent.
I take that last one back! Here it is, from the horror master, Lovecraft; "That is not dead which can eternal lie. And with strange æons even death may die." -Lovecraft, The Call of Cthulhu Though maybe I would cut the second phrase and keep only: "That is not dead which can eternal lie." Guest Kinjiru
I think I would have to go with a sci-fi classic... "The rest of the book, it's a cookbook!"

Elders (Moderators) Viivi Posted May 22, 2008 Elders (Moderators) Share Posted May 22, 2008 I feel you will have to deal with this matter in the harshest possible way, Mr. Torrance. Who can guess where it's from? Shouldn't be too hard!

Shouldn't be too hard!why, DBSD my good friend, that would be from The Shining....one of the best scenes in the movie.... "My girls, sir, they didn't care for the Overlook at first. One of them actually stole a pack of matches and tried to burn it down. But l corrected them. And when my wife tried to prevent me from doing my duty, i corrected her." 4th Horseman
Elders (Moderators) Viivi Posted May 22, 2008 Elders (Moderators) Share Posted May 22, 2008 You're right, Horseyman, in fact I find the scene in question the most terrifying of all; pure, slow, frozen madness. No sir, YOU are the caretaker. You've always been the caretaker. I ought to know: I've always been here.

Shouldn't be too hard! Another one from this master of the cinema art: "I was cured all right!" I'd probably settle for: "This is the end, beautiful friend, the end" kindof millenniumistic
ethsnafu
Oh I like the above VERY much! I think it would be kinda cool to have the pass-phrase option as part of our profile but have no idea if such a thing can be done. Keep 'em coming they're great!
