This information is 4 years old but I think it's still correct. You can check the original news on a few movie sites, but I like this one here because it quotes Mace Neufeld, API's producer, about his involvement in the project. In his new interview for Movie Geeks United Chris Carter was VERY reluctant about Fencewalker and he said that this project is very important for him.
